I am a mom living in a rural Nebraska town. My oldest child is in the Navy while my youngest will be a senior in high school. I work full time at the local school and enjoy swimming, teaching aerobics, cooking and entertaining.

The Navy offers opportunities that...
During boot camp it is a lot longer before you hear the voice of your son/duaghter than they tell you. We received a little note with his belongings a few weeks after he left for boot camp. It was another 2 weeks before he could call and I could hear his voice. Honestly, it was the longest month of my life.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
