When my daughter was in Sasebo, Japan, she was assigned to a ship and she had to be on the ship for a certain amount of time, then it was by rank, trustworthiness, etc., who could be in the BEQs due to limited availability. Katie ended up in BEQs, but now that she is back in the USA on another base - she is back on the ship! You have to be a higher rank to live off ship. I see your son is a corpsman. Katie had friends who were married on the base in Japan and one was assigned to the ship and the other to the base.

Oh, wow. Katie is a DC and was on the USS Essex until it did a hull swap with the Bonhomme Richard, now she is on the USS George HW Bush out of Norfolk. What ship will he be on? What does he think he would like to do now?
