My son will PIR 5/11/12 if all goes well.  I've been on pins and needles but this site has been great and has put me at ease.

    Do keep in touch.

We got the box on the Thursday after he left.  Then about 3 wks later on a Thursday we got our first letter.  In that letter he told me not to write him more than 3-4 times a week.  Well i'm not great at following orders so I kept sending them daily.  Then the following Thursday the letter told me to disregard what he had said about 3-4 letters he asked me to write everyday with any news on sports or politics.  I was so happy to hear this.  I've been counting the days down and pray every day that he keeps his faith and hangs in there till graduation.

The great thing is once you've found other Mothers/wives/Girlfriends in the same division you can share what their SR's say about the week and we all kind of get a bigger picture.

Hello JMT,  Thank you for the friend request.  My son also flew out GL on 4/18.  Do you happen to know what you son's Ship and Division number is?  If you haven't received your letter yet, contact your son's recruiter.  From what I understand they fill the Ships and Divisions as the recruits come in unless their in a performance (900) or special ops (800) division.  There is chance that our son's may be in the same Ship/Div since they arrived on the same day.  :)  I will keep you posted when I get the form letter!

Nice to meet you and warmest regards,

    Lisa
