- A little about me:
- My youngest son just turned 21 and left for Basic on the 28th from Miami. My other children are in their 30's and have started families, but still live close by. Ryan has been going to a local state college for two years and all of a sudden he signed up for the Navy last Oct., I was shocked. I would of been okay with the reserves. His Dad and Grandfather were Navy and my Dad and Brother were Army. Wayne and i are so very proud, but heartbroken he is not at home. I guess you call it "Empty Nest Syndrome". He was going to school for Criminal Justice and signed up for Master of Arms. I can't wait til graduation!!!!! When I have been asked by friends how i felt about him joining i would jokingly reply, " I am just happy he is going to make his bed everyday" Thank you for this group of moms. I think it will really help my worries. Patty

Love Palm Beach area. My parents actually have had a beach place on Juno Beach (they go up from Miami every weekend), since 1983, so my sons have "grown up" on the beach there. Have a nephew living in Jupiter and my sailor son lived there 1.5 yrs while interning for college/working. My "dream" is to be able to move up there one day! Miami isn't so great anymore. When my sailor lived up there, I was making weekly day-long trips up there to spend time with him/my nephew on the beach.
Nice to meet you...neighbor! :-) Did you all get much rain from Emily? We got a good bit down here. Much needed. So hoping Lake Okeechobee got some!
