Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. Plan to leave late Saturday or on Sunday. See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Which of the Seabee ratings (BU, EA, EO, SW, or UT) does your recruit have a contract for? I have more info for you.

Arrival and What Happens at RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is happening and what to expect.

Be sure to join your PIR group once you get The Form Letter, which now arrives 9 to 14 business days after the recruit's arrival at RTC in most cases. Let me know when you know what division your recruit is in. I will have more info for you.

Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members."

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since you have a recruit at RTC, then you can change "Waiting to leave for Boot Camp" above to “Enlisted” or “At Boot Camp now.” Either is appropriate, but if you make the change to “Enlisted” now, then you will not have to change it again.
