- My son has been in the Navy Reserves for about 5 years and will be deployed. Even though he is in his 20's,he is my youngest child and I will miss him dearly (not to mention worry about him). I'm looking for other mothers who are going through or have gone through a Navy Reservist Deployment.

Tell your son not to stress...just to take it one step at a time. When my son did the pepper spray he said he it burns like crazy, but he was so excited he did it. I gave him all the tip (yogurt or baby shampoo to help with the burning) but he said he was fine. As far as testing, just tell him to take notes and study. A lot of the boys usually form study groups. My son said that he and his roommate used to test each other all through the day. It worked well and he did good. He really enjoyed A School and made some great friendships. I hope it goes well for your son too.
