    Lisa,

I'm so glad you can feel the support from other moms here on the website.  I feel that that is my most important job, to help new moms cause I know how worried and mostly sad I was when my daughter left for bootcamp even though I'm a Navy vet myself.  It's just not the same when it's our daughters!!!

As far as the phone cards go, you can send her one.  I found good phone cards at Walgreens when my second daughter left for OCS.  Make sure they specify that they are phone cards and not cards that you use on some of these no contract cell phones.  Also, I used this website a couple years back when Jennifer was in OCS and they email you codes for free phone cards to active duty military.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "request cards'.  She can use all the codes herself or share with her shipmates.  I think they send six codes.  Best website ever!!!!

Let me know how it works for you!!!  And let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!!!

There are no groups for just loved ones of Engineman (EN), but you may find some in Engineers, Snipe Moms, and Snipe Moms(enginers). You will also want to join GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page.

The Rating Information Card for EN can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/en.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.) That indicates that Common Core and "A" School are 14 weeks after classing up.

Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Read the Page and follow the directions at the bottom to make change 3 (see the words in bold) so that this page is no longer visible to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Another change that I recommend that is mentioned in change 1 is to change the ZIP code to one that is not easily associated with your Sailor.
