Proud mom of two wonderful young adults. A daughter in her third year of college and a son who is on his way to Great Lakes to become a U.S. Navy Nuke.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Enlisted
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
They are not only supportive of the recruits but of the families. I couldn't be more proud of my son and his Recruiter was top notch.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.
Hi SC, Love your blog & our SR is also much better at communicating with us too!! It is wonderful to feel that we are sharing all her life experiences again. Those teenage years when they were trying to separate themselves from us were painful - with all those grunts & shrugs :) Evidently they knew all along how much we love them & truly care about their lives, thoughts & feelings! We are getting letters most Thursdays &/or Fridays. Hope they did well today with their physical fitness & weapons turnover. If so, J said they will get sailor heaven again on Sunday for 2 hours & be able to call. She also sent a little diagram of where we should sit for PIR - so cute. Not sure about the guys, but for the gals talking seems to be their major downfall! We're signed up to adopt her for Christmas. She heads straight to A school w/o leave after PIR, but not sure if it's Fri/Sat or Sun. We're at Homewood Suites in Lincolnshire on the 24th until ??? I'm going to check with Sarge for recommendation for Christmas dinner. Also - 906 is performing tomorrow for PIR so hoping to catch a glimpse of my little trombone player in the front row of the band!! Go Div 906!!!
