When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was proud and encouraged it
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Regardless of how we want to be there for our kids all the time, there is a time when we have to let them go forth and become their own person. I'm so proud of Christian and the path he has chosen for his life, I know he will excel in the Navy and beyond. We as parents have raised a fine young man, the Navy has made him even better.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Christine ~ I remember that life; 70 hours a week was the norm! I left the firm a year ago and went into government accounting. Right now that is only about 48 hours a week - add that to more tax. Take care of yourself and have a great end of tax season! ~ : ) ~kk

My son had a frocking ceremony around June 8 in Coronado, CA. I'm guessing the pix you sent were just of sailors that are stationed on the Nimitz? Do you know of other pix that may have been taken of North Island sailors/airmen? Mine is also an Eagle Scout. I didn't realize there's an Eagle Scout mom page.

Thanks for the get-acquainted offer but Smee is one of the San Diego aircrew. I just bought a ticket to go to HNL and, hopefully, see the ship pull into Pearl Harbor. Pat, Nimitz expert, thinks I 'll have a better chance of getting a tour of the ship there. Plus I'll see my son a week earlier.
Your husband is very lucky. Instead of inviting either of his parents, Smee invited a fellow Eagle Scout. He just enlisted and goes to boot camp in February. I guess it'll be good for him to go see what he's in for.
Best wishes for safe travels, us in getting to ship and ship in getting home.
