Hi Debbie,  My sailor son is on the USS Nimitz in Everett, when we go to visit we usually stay at the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites at Smokey Point, WA. Its just a few miles 10-15 mins to the base, the NEX is right next door, the rates are reasonable. 425-304-4860. I am actually here right now, lol

We have also stayed at the Best Western Cascadia Inn and it is nice as well, costs more but they do have breakfast and its about 5 mins to the base.

There are a lot of things to do here: The Woodland Park Zoo, SpaceNeedle, Pike Place and Public Market in Seattle, and much more... hope this helps, have fun!!

Grrr, this is my 2nd attempt at this. Apparently I am more tech challenged than I thought I was!! Nathan made that trip a few times from here and it was always pretty uneventful, even the winter trip he made. It is finally above 0 here yipee!! I will be interested to hear how he likes it there, especially when he gets to Stennis. Are you on Facebook? They have a page they post on once in awhile. Not too often but I managed to see a pic of Nathan once or twice. Because the AG page isn't very active, I forget to check this site so it might be easier to communicate via email, kellig04@gmail.com. Have a good weekend!

Debbie, Thanks for the invite and I apologize for not getting back to you. My mom made the hotel reservation so quickly that I didn't have time to process!  We stayed at the Best Western in Port Columbus/Airpointe Rd. It worked out because we were literally down a light and right turn from where the recruits were staying. IT was clean, no bugs. My mom said it smelled "funny" but we were literally there for maybe 8 hours.

I appreciate you reaching out to me! Now the waiting and countdown to graduation begins... all over again! ( my son just graduated from hs in May). Have a great day!
