Join the group, Leavin' for bootcamp in October or October Boot Camp Family. You will meet others with loved ones leaving that day/week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for.... I also suggest you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there.
Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer him to some good links on there.

hi TNM90....My son just graduated Sept 20th and he stayed in GL for A school....A school is for training (his job) and what he'll be working on the ship etc...When he grads you 'll be able to see him over the weekend. He does have to report back to barracks every night usually around 9:00pm.....But my advise to you is if your son/boyfriend/hubby hasnt already sent u a pamphlet on the different hotels etc there is room s on base that you can stay in where he'll be right across the field from you. But you have to call to see if you're qualified and they have to a background check and the rates are abt $45 a night w/the military discount... Hope this helps good luck
