My sister still lives in Hemet.  She works for G'osch, handles their DMV stuff.  Her name is Jolene, you may have had dealings with her?  My husband is from San Jacinto, and has family all over the valley!

My David was born when my husband and I still lived in Hemet.  We moved down to the San Diego area, then here to Arkansas in 1997.  David joined the Navy November '11, graduated from A school the end of April last year.  He came home for a couple weeks leave, then headed out for his first deployment on an aircraft carrier.

After that deployment ended he went to San Diego.  He loves that area a lot!  And got to spend time with he cousins "back home".

First of March his squadron was moved to Japan. So, he's way over there for the next few years.  But, I get to chat with him just about every day, on Facebook.  He will be deploying again very soon.  Out seeing the world!

What is your son's rate?  David in an AZ.  He chose a helicopter squadron because "they go more places than fixed wing aircraft".

After the tight structure of boot camp, your son will LOVE A school.  So much freedom!  And, once out of there, it just keeps getting better!  Well, better for them, not necessarily for mom's, they're too far away from us.

Small world indeed!  I'm so glad I found you!  That is great that you know Jolene, so, someday when I get back out there we'll get to meet!  We were just there in October, and Jolene is coming here in June, so it may be a while, but I'll get there someday.

I think your son will start getting over the homesickness now that he'll be able to call more often, and leave base sometimes.  David turned 23, one week into boot camp.  So, for him it wasn't like right out of high school.  I think he is more homesick now, being overseas.  Like I said before, we chat on Facebook, which is great, but I'd rather hear his voice!

where does he want to go after A school?  It's nice that they do have some choices.
