No i didn't go to her graduation from A school not even sure if they have one if they did she didn't inform me. But when she was able to leave the base I was able to pick her up for about 10days and bring her home to visit, then they flew her to Gulfport, Miss for her next phrase of training and this would be come her home base. The Navy will only pay for them to fly one way and then it is up to the Seabee or parents to pay for the other ticket or find other transportation for them to get back to the base on time. Usually between A school and the next phrase of the training they are allowed to come home, however some of them want to wait and take their leave later. If you do pick him up and he decides to come home for a visit be prepared they have to bring everything they have with them and then haul it back to the next base. Also be prepared that he will be a change kid and sometimes you may not like his attitude. They still on military time and we are on hour time. We had a hard time the first couple days understanding and cooperating on how things should be done. When ever you can get a chance to see your child in person you should take it, if you can afford it, because after the next phrase of training they can be deployment right away, such as my daughter who is in Alfganistan at this moment been there since February. Enjoy all the time you can with you child when you can. He will be able to call home more if he goes to Gulfport, Miss. after a few weeks of training. You can leave me a message anytime you want on my page.
