I am the mother of a Navy recruit (ship 11 div 370.) We live in Texas where my husband is the pastor of a Baptist church in Waller, Tx. I also have a daughter who is in beauty school. I would really love to meet some moms who's son will be graduating with my son.

I know that my son will benefit from being in the Navy. We are very proud of him for wanting to serve his country. My prayer is that God will strenghthen him and give him courage to face whatever obstacles come his way. I know God will do a great work in him.

  Since your Sailor will be headed to Lackland for A School this week, you may want to join San Antonio MA's. There is a lot of good info there that is specific to A School. Check out the Discussion Forums there. I posted a "Break down week by week" that you might find interesting.

  He will have to be in the San Antonio area for Thanksgiving. He may or may not be able to leave base that day. It will all depend on if he has watch and also how things are going. My Sailor was there for Thanksgiving 2 years ago. Your Sailor will most likely get 10-15 days of leave after A-School before going to his first duty station.
