Absolutely ~ I would love to have someone with me on this journey... This is all new to me.. I miss my baby ~ we are now empty nesters - 27 years as a daily mom and then one day poof it's done... My husband wants to dance a jig and I am still trying to keep the tears at bay.  Hope those two know each other and are friends.  Are you going to get to make it to PIR?  Looking forward to hearing back from you... Wow Angie,

You have ALOT going on as well ~ isn't funny how you can stay so busy and yet those boys are never very far from your thoughts ~ I think about Luke constantly, wondering how he is doing, what he is doing, whether or not he is doing it well, if he is glad he did it  , was he really old enough to take on this kind of responsibility... He did this all by himself, would not even let me go to the recruiters office with him... It's so hard to let the grow up.

I am not used to being out of control and this is all so new to me ~ I grew up in the military so I thought I knew what to expect.. I was wrong!  It is so different when it is your child that is leaving and you want them to grow up, but then again you don't...because you know the struggles out in the real world, that they don't have a clue about - but in Luke's case you couldn't tell him anything...he knows it all (ah, I remember the days when I thought I was smarter than my parents...doh!)

Ok, moving on before I make myself miserable...I would like to know as much about you and your family as you are comfortable sharing... I don't want to pry, but I am interested.

I am married to a wonderful man (10 years next month) we went to high school together not high school sweethearts ~ He was Mr. Everything and I was a wall flower (funny how time changes things)

He has two beautiful daughters, Brandy has (1 girl and 3 boys) and Brooke has (1 girl) those grandbabies keep us hopping.

I have two amazing boys (men) My oldest Jacob will be 27 this month and is an Emergency Room Technician at a hospital near the metro-plex (Dallas/Fort Worth) and is married to a wonderful girl (Christin) who does the same job/same hospital.

As of late I have also had my sisters 16 yo twins (Elizabeth and Hannah) that I have been spending ALOT of time with...We are getting ready for prom - Suzanne couldn't take them dress shopping so that honor fell to me.. lost as a goose since I only had boys - but I am a quick study...Prom these days is ridiculous ~  this is like getting ready for a wedding ~ the dress, the shoes, the tanning, the nails, the drama of it all.. whew!

Our Prom was at the high school gym ~ does that tell you how long ago mine was? :)

Well, I guess I have shared enough for now ` Like I said, share as much as you are comfortable with.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com.  My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012.  He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron.  He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.  My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp.  I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.
