Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.  

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.

BVA.JDmom -  Welcome to the BC Moms group. I am one of the veteran moms that sticks around to help answer questions and encourage you. If you haven't already, be sure to go to the main comment page there on the BC Mom group and introduce yourself. Even if your son has not left for BC yet, we are happy to help you out, answer any of your questions and help you navigate the days until he leaves for BC. 

BVA.JDmom - I would ask in the main BC Mom group. Be sure to scroll down to the comment section. I am not as familiar with how separation or hospital stuff works. I do believe that your SR will have had to have given RTC HIPPA permission for them to talk to you, if you do call. So, your son is the only one that can give you information.
