It will be in his orders when he gets them. Most will get about 10 days of Leave before reporting to the first duty station. He will put in a chit for Leave near the end of his "A" School if he plans to take any. Over 5 years ago, my Sailor came home on Leave and then was to return to his "A" School and then report to his new command about a week later. That changed when he was on Leave so that he was to report to VA to fly to his first duty station right after his Leave, but then that changed back to the original orders when he let the command know the cost of changing his tickets.
