When my son went to MEPs for the first time, he took a test, and did the physical test, and was offered a job as an aircraft structural mechanic.  That was what he wanted, so he took the offer and was sworn in that day.  He then entered the DEP (delayed entry program) and waited for his ship date of Feb 16, 2012.  That was back in like Sept on 2011.  So I guess to answer your question, is that could be possible today....lol....I hope he gets what he wants and tell him thanks for his service.  If he does enlist and gets a ship date, go to my site and request the free phone cards, and have him read up on the navy boot camp day by day page.  It will help him out a lot with preparing for boot camp :) Have a great day.....
