needed to learn more about it, was proud and encouraged it, had concerns or fears
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Many in his HS graduating class did not seek, though am happy he did. Its a tough world out there right now and it is good that he has direction in his life.
Our Navy experience so far...
has presented us with many questions., is a work in progress!
Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.
Then jump right in! Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.
Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!
Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question. This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor. Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!
And Thank You for Your Service!

emilyl- Welcome to the Nuke Mom's group. I am one of the current members that has my notifications turned on to be alerted when we have a new member join. I wanted to say hello.
Be sure to go to our group page, scroll down past the information, past the discussions and you will see a comment wall. That is the best place to post a hello and let us know where your sailor is in the Nuke Pipeline. Some days we are quieter than others in that group, but we are an active group and will help you with any questions that you might have.
My son is serving his final year of his enlistment and is currently serving out in the fleet. He is an ETN2 and has also been doing some TAD in another department so that he can gain experience there as well.
emilyl - we will be glad to help in anyway possible. Be sure to post on the group page as well. I am busy with family and not able to chat much this weekend, but you may also send me a PM and I will answer as soon as I am able.
