Navydaughternavymom - Welcome Aboard! I am glad to see that you have joined the BC Mom and Loved Ones group. Be sure to come to our group page, click on the link to the left, scroll down past all of the information, and the discussions and then you will find the Comment Wall. That is the best place to post your hellos, ask questions and come learn about being a Navy Mom as more of our members will see your comments in that section.

My son just recently finished his 6 years of enlistment and is now a civilian but I stick around, as do others to help out our new members. We are glad you joined us.

They have completed their 5th week and are going into the 6th week. We have not completed the form letter but you can wait until you receive it from your child. We went through all this 4yrs ago with our oldest son and when we completed the form through sandbox, we still had to submit the form that was  sent to us. (That may have changed)
As far as your other children being there, we brought ours with us a and they stayed at the hotel during PIR. They were able to watch it online and the hotel also showed it on tv in the rooms. We were able to bring our sailor back to the hotel where we could all spend time as a family.

Navydaughternavymom - I can't help you specifically with your GL A school question as my son was not there, but I have reached out to some others who may or may not be able to help.

Does the A school have an ombudsman or a FB group, or a website for it, do you know. You might be able to reach out to someone in the command. Depending on what you are mailing or shipping, you need to make sure it is insured, packed well, or whatever. They have sailors handling the mail room and once it is delivered by the PO or UPS, it is in the hands of the Navy. Stuff is known to go missing, and I would definitely get tracking #s. For my son's A school, they only had until 5 pm on M-F to pick up packages, and Saturday until noon. If it was paper mail, those were brought by the SLPO, I think, to their classrooms and distributed then.

If you can't get a mailing address then he needs to speak to his SLPO and ask how to get a package / letter addressed and mailed to him.
