A little about me:
My boyfriend ships off to BC June 6, which is in 2 weeks & way earlier than we were expecting. His original ship date was August 8, but he was approved for the contract he wanted, so they moved up the ship date. I always said I wouldn’t date anyone in the military because of the anxiety & heartache, but God had other plans. I’m so proud of my soon to be Navy Rescue Swimmer, but beyond grieving thinking about how life is about to change in 2 weeks. I could use all the love, support, & advice has to how to get past my sadness, so I can be the support for him now & share in his excitement!

    Welcome to NAVYforMoms.com!

Head to “Settings” on the main page right away to add a profile image (no last names visible, please) and complete your Profile. Then - and this is important! - read these Community Guidelines and this Operations Security (OPSEC) Checklist, for the safety and privacy of all our Sailors.

Then jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and the information in their Discussion Forums.

Join this group for boot camp moms, where you'll also find a group for your Pass in Review (graduation) date; and this one for PIR Reference Information.

Get a head start during boot camp by joining groups for, and learning about, your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" School; and later your Sailor's duty station and/or Navy ship and homeport. You can also join groups for your own state, region or home town and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas!

Please say Hi when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - everyone was new once, and there is no "dumb" question.  This site was created by the U.S. Navy just for you, and we look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor.  Welcome to the NAVY family - we're so glad you're here!!

Good Morning!! I see you did a name change, that is good!! I also see you joined the BC Mom group (I have my profile set to notify me when we have new members join the group.) We recommend that you post your questions and comments towards the very bottom of that page in the comment wall (underneath the discussions). More of our members receive notifications about those posts than they do the discussions.

We encourage everyone to come post and say hello. There are several new members but it is only as chatty as you all make it. We also have PIR groups you may join, so if you know the month of your SR's (seaman recruit) PIR you may join that as well. I do not believe B'sNukeMom has set the Sept PIR up yet.

I am also sending you a friend request, that way you may private message me if you would like. My son left almost 5 years ago for BC and has one more year of service left.
