Profile Information:

A little about me:
Mother of 4...3 boys and 1 girl...My daughter,( oldest child), has just enlisted at the age of 28...She has a ship date of July 12, 2012 ( and yes I know the Navy does their dates different...LOL).

She is the first person in our family since the 40's to go into the military, so this is rather new to us...And to be honest, we were very surprised when she told us in Dec. 2011 this is what she planned to do...But, we support her 100% and hope to learn more about the Navy via this forum.
I am here to support my
Son/Daughter
Stage of (Sailor’s) Navy career?
Waiting to leave for Boot Camp
When I heard “Navy,” I...
Was concerned or afraid
The Navy offers opportunities that...
Enlisting is a very long process!!
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Hi, "Jules," and welcome to Indiana Moms! I'm the administrator for the group, so if you have any questions, please ask. My son is a Nuke MM serving on the submarine ALABAMA, based out of Bangor, WA. He's been in for five years.

If you're near Indy (or willling to drive), there's a monthly informal dinner in Avon (on the west side) which meets on third Mondays. Click Nov. 21 on the Events calendar (right-hand column) for those details. From time to time, we also have regional gatherings in various parts of the state.

Jump in with any questions or comments you may have. I think you'll find we're a nice bunch of folks and always willing to lend an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Hugs! k.
