My son recently enlisted and he ships out in August to Great lakes and then on to Pensacola for A school. He is going to be an (I never get this right) aviation and computer/electronics technician, or something like that. He is very excited and happy to have direction! He plans to get a degree at some point. I have 4 children, and Ryan is 20 and is my 2nd (oldest is 23 year old boy, and I have boy/girl twins who are 11).

Hi Laurie.  They actually get mail everyday.  They begin writing letters the Sunday of their second week and if their division is doing well they also get to write Tuedays and Thursday in about the fourth week.  I made the same mistake and didn't send my mail our earlier in the week because I thought they only got it on Sundays which resulted in him not getting a letter until the third week.  He was worried we weren't going to write him, but I can tell you after that letter we made sure he got one everyday.

Hi! I actually did see it, but my son's recruiter didn't have a PIR date to give me. I'm pretty sure its the right day, but I met another mom on here whose son arrived at BC the same day and his PIR is September 28th! So I'm just waiting on the form letter to confirm it. Are you starting to make travel arrangements yet?

Hooray on the letter! Did you notice the difference in handwriting? Making flt and hotel reservations is crazy lol! Do you know which hotel you're booking? Maybe we can stay at the same one. I haven't come across other Moms whose SR's are in the same div as 'our' Ryans. Have you? Talk soon! :)
