    Laurie,

I have made a discussion for Ship 12 Div 049 under the PIR group 1/27/12. I would love you to join so that we can pull together information about our loved ones. Hope to hear any info you may have soon. :)

14 months!  I am surprized they didn't detect it earlier.  David was almost turned down because of his vision, and is limited as to what he will be allowed to do because of it.  So I know the heart ache you're feeling.  We do what we can for our kids, but when something out of their, or our, control changes things it can be difficult.

Laurie, I am so sorry.  You and your son are in my prayers.  Yes, God has another path for him.

During WWII my father was training to be a pilot and his life plans were all centered around that.  He was kicked out of cadet school when they found a spot on his lung, scar tissue from a childhood illness.  He was heart broke, and thought the cute nurse he's been seeing would dump him because of it.  Well, mom didn't care if he became a pilot or not, she loved him anyway.  They had a wonderful life together.  He found a successful career path that was better suited to raising 6 kids.  None of us know what the future holds for us, but time keeps moving on and down the road we can look back and see why things happen the way they do.

May God continue to bless you and your son.
