I am sorry that your son is going through this. This has got to be very frustrating and devestating to him. I can understand why he would not want to go through the appeal process though, especially if it means being in THU for a long time.
I would encourage you to reach out to the recruiter, but they may not be able to give you any specific information since your son is over 18. I would definitely ask your son though about checking into whether or not the recruiter filed the waiver, if you can encourage him to do so.
