Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Since you have a Sailor, you can change "At Boot Camp now" above to “Enlisted.”

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

Be sure to make the changes I sent.

900 divisions usually go through Battle Stations-21 (BST) on the Monday night before PIR. Write to your recruit and ask when BST is to know for sure.

The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will be of interest to you since you have a recruit in a performing division. I believe that Division 918 is Ship Staff/Honor Guard.

There are no groups for just loved ones of Engineman (EN), but you may find some in Engineers, Snipe Moms, and Snipe Moms(enginers). You will also want to join Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page.

The Rating Information Card for EN can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/usn/enlisted/rating_info_cards/en.pdf. (If you get the security warning, it is safe to go there.)

You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. Plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday if you are able to do that. (See PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend.)

Welcome to NAVYforMoms!   Our members are looking forward to meeting you and answering your questions.

Please go to “Settings” on the main page where you can add your profile image and complete your Profile (for OPSEC reasons, do not post photos with names visible on uniforms).  Please read our Community Guidelines and this Operations Security checklist, then head to About Us and Getting Started.

When you're ready, jump right in!  Browse around the site and check out the groups and their Discussion Forums.  Boot Camp Moms would be a great start!

The weeks during boot camp are wonderful for learning about what's to come for your Sailor. You can search for and join groups for your Sailor's occupational specialty and "A" school, duty station or homeport and ship; groups for moms in your state and/or home town; and interests from getting ready for deployment to care package ideas.

Be sure to introduce yourself when you join a group, and feel free to ask any and all questions - we were all new to this once, too  :)  We look forward to getting to know you and your Sailor, and welcome to the NAVY family!

I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there. Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will let you know what is happening and what to expect.
