OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

KathyC......i, I see you have changed your Username so that it no longer contains your last name. (You made the change some time ago.) You also need to change the URL (address) to this page. Make change 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) to take care of that. (If you are using a Smart phone, you will need to switch to Desktop View to make this change.)

Also make change 3 while you are there so that this page is no longer open to EVERYONE (Anyone) with access to the web.

There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Just a reminder, don't post last names of Sailor as you did in a comment to nathansmom. (I asked her to delete it, but you could check and delete it if she hasn't.) If you have a need to share last names, please do so in a PM and not openly. See Community Guidelines and OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile). Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Nice to meet another Mom from Division 257!!  I cant wait to meet everyone in person!  Thank you also for the offer of a possible ride from the airport.  It actually looks like my Dad might be coming with me and we can rent a car.  Not sure yet though.  Im still waiting for a call from my SR so I can see how confident he feels about PIR.  I know he has had some problems, I just dont know the details.  I will let you know though if I can arrange transportation or if I might need to take you up on your offer of a ride if we can work it out :)

Hey, how are ya'll?  My son, Ship 10, DIV 258, write to him every other day and sometimes my fingers can't help themselves and i write everyday...I was wondering why i wasn't getting any letters back - then it dawned on me, we sent no stationary or stamps - but they couldn't take them in with them anyway...well i've started enclosing a self-addressed stamped in every letter i write or card i if i don't get a response, it will be because he either doesn't have the time or just wants to rest in free time...still waiting tho - can't wait for PIR 8/12...Ramada INN - TeXaS is coming to town - Southern Blessings, Cindy
