OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A little about me:
We moved to my husband's first duty station about two months ago! It has been a crazy journey from when he decided to enlist to where we are now. I still have a lot of learning to do and yet at the same time, I am excited and very proud for this new adventure that lies ahead.

Being flexible is the key and having a positive outlook will get us through each passing day. I am a firm believer in Christ and I know that without His strength, I wouldn't be able to continue this path with my head held high. I love my husband more than ever, knowing that he decided this life for us, and with that I will support him through thick and thin.
Our Navy experience so far...

Welcome to the group USS ALABAMA!  I'm the administrator for the group, so if you have any questions, please ask. My son is a Nuke MM serving on the Blue crew. This Sept will be 5 years for him.

I see that you've joined Sumarine Wives, etc...  Let me also recommend that you join the group Sub Moms, plus there's another, older group for wives named Sub Wives.  All these groups are happy to help you out.

Jump in with any questions or comments you may have. I think you'll find we're a nice bunch of folks and always willing to lend an ear for listening or a shoulder to cry on. Hugs! k.
