letters from my love

I got more letters from my love today, 3 to be exact! He got his orders for “A” school. He got the rate of “FC” or Fire Controlman, he had wanted “ET” but said this will do. Didn’t say if they were “accompanied” orders… silly. I will find out when I get up there I guess. On the 25th he said they took Test 2 and out of 160…

When do the SR's receive pay?

I am on my son's checking account and I noticed that his last paycheck was a lot less than the 1st one in December and then I think that he sent me a letter stating that they get paid on the 15th and then as well on the last day of the month.  I checked his account this morning and noticed that nothing had been posted.  Does anyone know anything about this.. Just curious.  Any info is greatly appreciated.  I only ask, because he needs me to make a purchase for his girlfriend.  Thanks so… Continue

Graduation/ Get Married

So I have to find out a way to get to my fiance's graduation March 18th. But money is looking a lil grim and I don't have any clue as to how I am going to get up there. Also we really want to get married and we know it will be hard and all but we are ready for the commitment. The only thing is that he is going into Nuke school and I have heard that he will go straight to A school after bootcamp, does anyone have any advice on both of these topics?

Best friend at boot camp

Ok, so firstly I kind of feel like the black sheep here on this site. I am not a mom, sibling, girlfriend, or wife of a sailor. I’m just a best friend who wants to know what’s going on. I feel like if I was to post anything here I would be rejected b/c of the friend thing. But when I say best friend I mean just that.  I feel like part of her family, they have taken me in like another child. When I was away at college every time I got the chance to come home for the weekend I would go over to…

Ship 03 DIV 090 First call

Just got our first call from our son!  He sounded really good and in good spirits.  Said it's pretty much what he expected.  His group is doing really well, earned flag for academics.  He is "group leader" and earned his first pin!  Not happy that group leaders have to do IT for SR mistakes tho, but dealing with it.  Said they eat well and sleep as well as to be expected with 88 guys in a room!  He said they are all counting down the days to Graduation and can't wait to get on with A school for… Continue
