Well it's been quite a while

Well it’s been quite a while since I posted on this site.  My older boy has been in 8 years and still packing chutes. My younger one has been in 7 years has 2 boys and is recruiting now and has tested for E6. Both have been on 2 deployments and I have been on 2 tiger cruises. My husband and I have flown all over the country for visits.  Not so much lately as my 3rd and oldest boy is in the army and based in HI. His kids are living with us for now.   I am just as proud now as the day they all…

April 26,2018

Yesterday I got my first real letter from my son. One page for me, one page for sister and one for the dog. He pulled a muscle in his leg running for chow so Friday April 20th he was on light duty, so he had plenty of time to write. I could tell it bugged him. He said he has nothing negative to say nor anything really positive. He did say he is worried about his final run time but that his RDC (Recruit Division Commander) is going to run him a lot next week to help. He is tired of other…

Hotels after PIR

I saw a post somewhere that our Sailors can only go back to certain hotels. I am looking to book a hotel and want to make sure I pick one she is allowed to come back to. Has anyone herd of this?!

SEPS- Will be home today !!!

Well I am off to pick her up. Funny, the drive to pick her up is almost as long as her flight. Happy that I will get to see and hug her. And we will get some quality time together before we are back home. To all of you with a SR in SEPS hang in there. Keep giving them positive input. They will be home soon.

It has been awhile

We received the I am still alive call last weekend. It was short since he called his sister first. She didn't recognize the called and rejected it. He left a good message that we listen to when we need to hear his voice. He is doing good but said this was "the hardest thing I have ever done". He is stronger than I think and he got his stubbornness from both his father and I. I know he has this. I am both proud and worried. I guess that proves I am mom.

I booked my flight, got a airbnb…

SEPS-Today

I had a nice talk with my daughter on Monday. It is great to hear her voice. I also received my first letter from her Monday as well. Hearing from her more regularly now I don't worry so much. It is once she gets home I will worry. She is so upset, irritated, frustrated and mad right now that she doesn't know what to do. My fear is once she gets home that she may just give up and close off from everything. I know she is safe now, she is doing well and anxious to get home. Still no word on…

Joy and Apprehension

So, we currently have 2 at Boot camp.  They are 1 month apart.  Got to see one in PIR singing today and it was so exciting.  Two weeks from today....

The second one has been crickets for the last 2 weeks 4 days.  Two weeks ago Monday, I got a 90 second phone call about her "being set back" due to "injury" and she had to repeat week 1 again.  She was crushed.  I encouraged her to be strong.  I would have expected a form letter today (as mail is sent out on Monday) but nothing arrived. …

SEPS-She is being seperated.

We got the call on April 6th. She failed her run. Twice. So she is being sent home. She can go back in 6 months. I missed that call, my husband took it (I was at work). She called again on Monday the 9th. She is upset, frustrated and still far from home. She called her brother today. I am waiting for my next call from her and a letter from her soon. She says she wants to go back, I am going to do everything I can to help her and support her. I know if she just walked away and gave up she…

Today

Well on 3/27 we dropped her off at the hotel, she called 3/28 at around 11 p.m. with the "I am here, I am safe" call. Well today I received the box. Looking forward to the form letter so I can start to send her letters. A really rough week for me and for my youngest daughter. So this week has to get better. I will anxiously await the letter and letters from her.

My BF left for boot camp on 3/22 & wanted to know when and for how long his call will be? Also,  could he call both his mom and me,  or does he have to choose? How often are they allowed to call??
