As the other ladies said, keep on the recruiter about getting her on a wait list. My husband and the guy he flew out to bootcamp with were both not supposed to go to bootcamp til March '11 and both left in Nov '10. When the recruiter calls with the opportunity, she won't have time to decide. So my husband and I decided what dates we were okay with (ASAP) and he always had his phone on him so if the call came, he could answer.

She will be just fine :) My daughter went to Great Lakes from Arizona, I too worried about her being warm. She said they have given her plenty to stay warm. She was not supposed to go until July of next year and they had some openings and got her in. The wait also gave her time to get to know others that are joining.
