Hi just read your post. My daughter is still waiting to attend boot camp she still have her senior year to finish and then off she goes.  So I'm taking advantage of these last moments with her !  I will miss her dearly and will continue to keep you posted . Thank you so much for asking about my little navy girl.

I saw that when I first joined and you were my first friend request. I was happy for you that you got a letter and that your daughter seems to be doing well.  I saw a suggestion to have pictures become the back drop for your letters so today I am going to do a selfie of me looking into our empty mailbox to send to my son. He will get a kick out of that!  I have to do it early before the neighbors think I'm nuts!

tmy1970,

Air Traffic Control!!!  How cool!!  My second daughter to go in the Navy (her twin sister went in first while Jenn did college), had her first phase of flight training in Pensacola.  She's a Naval Flight Officer.  Who knows, someday our girls paths could cross!!!!

Don't forget to make change 3.

At 3:26pm on June 29, 2014, lemonelephant said…

There will be a discussion within PIR 08/15/2014 TG 40 for Divisions 247 and 248; they are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together.  ellen usually waits until all of the ships and divisions are known for sure, so the discussions should be up any time now since we know the divisions in that TG even though the RTC has not posted them..

Make change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link). There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

Since your SR has a contract for Air Traffic Controller (AC), join Air Traffic Controller Moms, Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!!, and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola and check out Airman Family and Friends. The Rating Information Card for AC can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ac.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend once you get the form letter.

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. What is your SR's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There are groups for most ratings and/or "A" Schools and knowing that will help you to better plan for PIR weekend. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
