Hey!  Hope you're doing ok.  Have missed you on the PIR groups.  Figured you are busy.  Hoping you are doing ok...so sorry about your mom. Is your dad still alive?  Anyway....just wanted to say HI !

Lol! Your comments on the wall were both completely different. The first one had me freaking out a little bit and the second made me calm!LOL! But if you remember that happening then I think maybe its just something they are telling them. I have tried to ask a few moms but none of them knew but I asked him today and he said that's how it is for his whole div because they are grad and go. I hope its not true. I know others from different divs going to Groton as well and none of them have been told anything about having on base liberty. I also asked him when he thought he would fly out and he said it would be at like 12 that night so I don't think the RDCs really know much of anything they just like to scare them. I guess I will find out Friday!

Ok...thank you so much...these big airports are a little intimidating especially since he doesn't have a cell phone so I can call and find out where he is.lol

I was wondering if you could explain to me how the airport situation works (when I get to sit with him until his flight leaves). I s there a certain gate I meet him at? How do I know what time to meet him there? And where do I get the gate pass to sit with him?lol I know its a bunch of questions but I am trying to get everything figured out before I leave. Thank you so much for everything!:)

Ok I have a question in my husbands letter he said he would only be granted on base liberty! Does this happen a lot or do the rdcs like to scare them? I am asking on every posts I can think of lol I was just really counting on even just a few hours of alone time with him!

Thank you so much for your reassurance. Before Michael went to bootcamp he was always having to be strong for me. I was a basketcase. Crying because I was terrified of him leaving. He had NO IDEA what he was getting into when he left in February. Now that I have LEARNED SO MUCH through this site and friends like you, I am the stronger one. I know it's because I'm able to jump ahead in the future and see what lies ahead of him by talking with others they have already been through it. So, it's like the tables have turned. I have to be strong for him and guide him, and he is just having to go through it.

Hearing you say A school is better makes me SO happy. I'm looking forward to it so much. From your pictures, I see your son has a GF. How are they doing with all this?

Thank you again for all the thoughts and encouragement! :)

Oh my goodness thank you so much for all of that info! I can now breathe a little easier knowing that at least he gets his cell phone! I do plan on waiting with him at the airport... this has taught me to cherish every second with that I get to spend with him. Again, thank you so much for answering my question and I hope you have a wonderful week with your son!:)

Lol...I have noticed that about the A school group...I have been spoiled by the PIR group. They are so wonderful about answering every question I have! So, my main question about BESS is about whether or not he can have his cell phone? I have read they can and then he said he would have to be phased up...I am a little confused!lol And that is wonderful that you get to spend 7 days with him, I cannot wait to have some time to spend with my husband!

NO! I've never heard that story! That's too cute. I'm going to (hopefully) go to work tomorrow and think of something special. I know he'll enjoy anything. Thanks for the ideas!!

Oh no! Okay, "no goodie packages" noted. I want to send him things in the box, along with the contacts/solution. Do you have any ideas? I'm a Kindergarten teacher (Haven't been to school all week though - sinus infection).. So I know I could get the kiddies to do something precious.. but I'm not sure what?

I cannot believe girls get make up and curling irons??!! That's wild. YAY for them! I know they are missing it.

Good morning!  Can you post your "sarge" info on the 3/25 site?  There is a lady on there looking for transporation around GL...too young to rent a car.  I'm thinking that may be the way for her go to.  Sounds like he is very helpful  Thanks!

Yes, Jessica told me.  Ijust joined the group. "Freebird" was dealing with cancer too...I guess hearing that her daughter didn't put her on the guest list for PIR was too much for her.  She seemed to be reaching out to anyone to talk....dealing with cancer must be hard enough without all of that going on.  Poor thing.

I wondered why my group page looked different?  Now I know!  I'll have to emall Jessica about that.  Strange!  Maybe she found out that there will be no 4/22 group???? I'll let you know!  Thanks!

Hey, Jan!  SO glad that you are helping in the groups...because you give great advice and we NEED people like that.  We have had some others in the past....usually gfs...who have jumped on and given wrong advice.  UGH!  One who did this ....her sailor broke up with her at PIR....and she still was coming on to give "incorrect" advice!  So....you are giving "spot on" advice and we veterans like that!  So keep up the good work and join as many groups as you like!  You can find all of the current PIR groups on my page, if you haven't seen them already.

Yes, I started the 3/4 group.  But actually what happened was that one person had started it as a discussion group within the BootCamp group...and I asked her to form a group instead before all joined the discussion group....she didn't answer me right away, so I went ahead and started it, but made both her and another lady administrators so that they have control of it.  I actually had 2 August PIR groups also that I started....8/6 and 8/13.  I had more control in those groups and loved it....but it is time consuimg!  So I was glad to turn over control on the 3/4 group to Meg and CNM.  Jessica and I are still trying to have the creators of the PIR groups add one of us on there as an administrator in case something happens to the creator or they she can't be on much (so we can delete comments if necessary).  The 3/11 group is unattended with no administrators added....she is around but doesn't post. And I had asked her to add her division #s at the top and asked if she wanted to insert a page icon picture....never got a response from her.  Ugh.....but oh well...they're getting there!  I think Jessica is the one who gets on Bootcamp or the DEP groups and encourages them to start their PIR groups....she is really good about that!

So welcome to the veteran group and keep up the good work!  We love your help!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Dianne
