Hi, we are flying in Thursday morning, and are planning on being at the Meet and Greet. Looking so forward to seeing you and your Sailor as well! Have a safe trip. Molly
Hey! It depends on how early the shuttle leaves your hotel. Can you call them and ask when their first scheduled shuttle will be? We stayed at Residence Inn for my son's PIR and ours left at 6:30. We were in the drill hall by 7. Leaving that early would give you plenty of time to get to the PAO. I can't imagine that the hotel doesn't request the shuttles (actually minivan cabs) for at least by 6:30, but don't assume anything. Call and ask. If there is a problem, you can always drive. There are pros and cons to both the shuttle and car. Congrats to your honor graduate! That is wonderful!
Hi Stephanie, I am still learning this site, I really don't know all the in's and out's of it yet, would you direct me to the area that you are talking about the white scarves. Suzanne
Hi Stephanie, I'm Suzanne, Gregory's mom. Debbie shared the letter with me about Brandon's Grandfather, I have to tell you it brought me to tears. I am so sorry for your loss and I'm sure it was a very diffcult decission that Brandon had to make. I am looking forward to the trip to meet all of Gregory's friends and to be able to hug my son again. Gregory was very excited to tell me that his two friends were going with him to Texas. What day will you be flying in and where will you be staying? I'm staying at the Motel 6 about 4 miles away from the Navy station. Suzanne
So sorry for the difficulties in messaging. I am not very good with these things so I probably have my settings wrong, I don't have my SR here to set it up for me! I am not sure how far of a drive, pretty long I imagine, we are in southwestern Ohio. I am so sorry for the loss of your father, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My SR is a Seabee. We also have have close family friends in San Antonio, so that is comforting to us also. I am so excited to meet everyone at PIR also. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Hi Stephanie! Well we are on the homestretch now, I can hardly wait till 5/6. Our SR wrote this week that it looks like his A school will also be in San Antonio, is that still where your SR will be heading? My SR is Brandon, if you don't mind my asking, what is your SR name?
Hi Stephanie! I didn't get any phone calls like that, I really don't know what they could be about. Hopefully, they'll call again & you'll find out. I got my scarf, too. I can hardly wait for PIR!!!
Stephanie, I talked to my son today! I asked if knew anyone from Coushatta, but he said he doesn't think so. I'm sure they've met each other, just maybe don't know where each other are from. He said there are 72 recruits in their division. They were able to send out mail on Sunday 3/27, so if you didn't get mail today, you should get it soon! Let me know if you've heard anything. I didn't get mail, but the phone call was a God send.
Stephanie, I just saw that tink11 got a letter today! I believe her SR is in 158. I didn't get anything today, did you? Maybe tomorrow then?! It's good to know they were finally able to write :)
Hi Stephanie, mine is Molly, and you are right, the usernames are funny. My son went in as a seabee, and we are not sure where his A school will be either. It breaks my heart as well, for those whose family will not be at PIR, and my son is like yours and knows anyone is welcome to join us as well after the ceremony. I really enjoy checking this site, I do so before work and after, and sometimes in between when I am able to do so. Still no call or letters, but I know he is busy, we keep sending letters and cards to him everyday. I am looking forward to meeting you at GL, looks like it is whites scarves for us. Talk to you soo.
Hello other N4M's on Ship 12 Div 158! I haven't seen you guys on the PIR 5/6/2011 group lately, so just wanted to let you know there is a discussion started there about the members of each division wearing a colored scarf to PIR to show our support for our SR's and to identify us with one another. Of course, it is optional for you to participate, just wanted you to know this information is out there at http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir562011/forum/topics/scarf-colors-by-division-to
