Thank you for the heads up about the BS post.  I was unaware that the information was not supposed to be public.  I can no longer find the post on the RTC facebook page and have deleted my post on this page.  I did not mean to get anyone in trouble was just excited to see when we might be able to expect our "I'm a Sailor" call.

Yes, about 3 years ago Joshua wanted to get his nose cauterized, he had nose bleeds often, but the doctor wouldn't do the procedure before having blood work done to test for Von Willebrands.  The initial test sent us all clamoring...it was VERY high and looked as if Joshua would need to be cautious the rest of his life.  Because of this they sent us to specialists at a children's hospital.  The first test run there was a "high normal" and the second indicated he was only a carrier of the disease.  So, they were comfortable stating it was a "false positive".  I am not sure how detailed the Navy will test the blood, if it done like a regular lab (which is how the first initial test was done) the blood will most likely come back with HIGH numbers.  If they spin it down and clarify it, he could possibly be cleared.  We will have to see what God has planned.  Yes, Joshua refers to Anthony as his "best friend" and was so very disappointed that he wouldn't be graduating with him and going to "A" school with him and his other buddies.  I hope that if Joshua does come home they will be able to keep in touch.  Pray for Joshua ... Anthony is in our prayers always!  Dana

Thanks...I guess it's called Ship 5 now and I found a GREAT site of moms here who have had kids there.  It looks like if he's DQ'd he will be home in approx. 12 business days...it's sort of like the US Mail! :)

Oh yes i have to see my future Sailor get sworn in and will be in every event that i can be in, although i have three more young men at home this one has a special part in my heart. Hope to keep learning more on this website. I took off work Mon - Wed to be there for him. My son joined in Delray due to the school he was in. My son signed up one of his friends and he signed up in the Greenacres office off of Lake Worth RD.

Hello ~ I think you are Anthony's mom? Joshua is my son...he and Anthony have become quite close.  We are waiting to hear if Joshua will be DQ'd because of health reasons.  Should hear something by Wednesday, January 19th.  It's just crazy having to wait and wonder.  I am glad to hear your son is doing so well.  Joshua was pretty devasted 1. knowing he would not be able to graduate and go to A school with his buddies 2. that he wouldn't see Anthony again 3. that he may not even get to stay in the Navy.  But we know that God has a plan and we are just waiting to see it unfold.

He mentioned 300 in one part of the letter.  Not sure if this is in his division or he meant a larger group....still learning the lingo!!  Your letters should be any day! Hang in there....I know the feeling!!

I got to talk to Arthur again today! They let him call home because it was Tucker's birthday! I can't believe it! Twice in one week. He said today was the first day he has been able to send out a letter! Maybe this is the case for all divisions. He also said that they were supposed to have Holiday time today. He said training started on Monday and that it's been stressful, but he's been able to keep up so far.
