Martha, it has been a while hasn't it??? been planning on checking in. How r u? How and where is Lizzie????? Tami ended up in Norfolk(YEAH - 7 hours)!!!!!! and is on the San Antonio. In case I don't get the chance, Happy Christmas to u and urs. We're celebrating the 30th, coz that's when leave hits. That's ok, I have a fake tree and decided it would stay up forever if need be........
Martha, got a response on bootcamp. Diannep says its just a formality, leaving me to believe it doesn't mean mush more than that. Doesn't matter if I use it or not, she'll get her mail - good thing, i didn't use it. me being paranoid i guess.
Martha, posting all over, don't see an answer. My last letter from Tam had Ship 11 USS Kearsarge DIV 217. Have you seen this from anything Lizzie sent. Tam Just "forgets" to tell me stuff sometimes. Thanks,
A.P.O. is the person in charge of the group when they go to the gymn and workout..he said he's doing well passing all of his inspections so I'm very proud of him..he is ready to graduate
Hey LizziesMom.. My bf is also on Ship 9 Div 219.. so we definitely are going to be at PIR together.. You should ask your daughter does she know him, he said he is A.P.O. over the group so she should def know him..
Thanks for getting back to me. Do you know anything about the MnG? Like time and place or if our kids will be attending? I wish my daughter would join. She is stacking up debt going to college. Today she is testing for CA State Certification for teaching. I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying a few prayers that jobs will open up by the time she graduates with her Masters. I think the Navy is the way to go. She would have her school paid for and have a career at the same time if she would join. The girl in my photos is my daughter, Kaitlyn. She played basketball until 9th grade....that's when she stopped growing! She is only 5'4". She then went on to cheer. My son is 6'2" and I'm 5'9". Basketball was always big at our house. Volleyball not as much but my son played on season of it. I miss that kid so much but I know this is going to be good for him. Our town was getting way too small for him. We live about 45mins out of downtown LA and 7 miles inland of Malibu. Pretty quite here for teens. Malibu is boring and LA's 45 mins can turn into 4 hours in a snap! I used to spend my summers at Lake Texhoma. Have you heard of that? My best friend lived on the panhandle of Oklahoma. Sure had a lot of fun on that lake. Loved the Dallas area. How far are you from there?
Hi Martha, I love the pics! Lizzie is a beautiful girl. She looks so happy. Did her recruiter tell you that you were allowed to go to the swearing in ceremony? My son's recruiter did not tell me but I asked if I could see him before he left and that is when he told me I could go. I was the only parent there at MEPPS in Los Angeles. I don't think the recruiters out here inform parents of being able to be present during this time. It's a shame. Looks like you were able to take some nice pics. LA MEPPS was strict on where I could stand and take pics so I didn't get any good ones of Dan swearing in. I was glad I went and so was he. I felt bad for the other kids cuz they said they didn't know their parents could be there. I'm sure Lizzie and Dan have met by now. What is her job after BC? Dan is in AO. He wants to change it to AE. He wanted in fast so he took the first job offered. He was ready to start his life and since my dad was in the Navy that is what he joined. What about Lizzie? Why did she go into the military? She looks tall in your pics. Was she a cheerleader? I still have not received a "real" letter from Dan. How about you...any news from your daughter? I really hope they get to call us tomorrow for Mother's Day.
Hey Martha:) so my friends son Just left bootcamp a couple of weeks ago,and he told me that if they have room for their wisdom teeth they will most likely keep them but if not yes they will pull them and they would be on light duty or sick leave in their bunk for 2 to 4 days, and I ask what the hek is the ship9 is it sick ship lolol, he said no its a regular barracks, ship 5 and sometimes 6 are the ones to worry about, but he didn't say why? He's in pensacola at A-school so hopefully tonight he will write back :) I'm finding out anything and everything for us:) but in the meantime today I will make a better day and maybe STALK the UPS guy,my house sits on the corner of one street and my mail box is on another so I have had to chase UPS before because he couldn't find my house:( and they don't take the time to look so ill be watching :) hope you are doing ok:) keep our spirts up:) xoxo keep me posted on anything you find out too
I
Well no letter today:( but I have a friend on facebook who is also on this site because her husband is in the navy, she said it took a week for her kid in a box to come and then 10 days after that she got her form letter? I wrote Autumn and told her that we have found each other and that maybe she can find Lizzie somehow so maybe they will hit it off:) NO ONE but us is on ship 9:( but have you seen kids with PIR 6-18 and they left the same day as our kids, I'm getting upset because no one told us about be able to be there for her swearing in so I've already missed that:(,I tried to post pics from my phone ,my computer is down at the moment but its not loading them so ill have to go to my friends and do it so when they graduate at least we can look for each other:) Come to find out I have more navy friends on facebook even one who's married to a cheif, and my brother is an E-8 in the army and once a recruiter so I'm going to see what he knows,Autumns recruiter is a slacker:) but ill keep you posted on what I find out :)
No I haven't gotten mine either yet,and am getting fustrated because it seems that everyone but you and I got theirs and it seems we are the only two on ship 9? I'm starting to think what is ship 9? My daughters wisdom teeth were breaking through and she was in a lot of pain when she left so I don't know if maybe they took them out or not and they wouldn't call me lolol, I ended up yesterday very depressed because of this,I also looked on the website and nothing but kids that left a day before ours say they graduate on 6-11? I will keep you posted maybe today will be the day for us?
Until you get the form letter, which you probably got by now. Go to www.bootcamp.navy.mil Click on "Families" tab. You will get a drop down menu go to Upcoming Grad.. It'll have her ship and div. and Her PIR date. I think its June 10th. Tami's isn't listed yet. But her letter says the 18th. am already looking forward to that.
Got my letter today Tami's in Ship 11 DIV 217, what have you heard from Lizzie??? After college I thought I had this her not being around down, But at least when she was there, we talked everyday. But like they say 'That which does not kill us....... Any how PIR is June 18th for us! On a side note, Where is Lindale? I spent 9 wonderful years in McKinney, Tami (Tamira) and her sister Brittany were born there! I consider myself a naturalized Texan!! And I don't know about Lizzie, but Tami's been in trouble with the "sir/ma'am" thing. :) Oh well, good manners are good manners!
Yes I usually tell people I'm 15 from Edwards AirForce base where the space shuttle lands then they see ahhh ok:)so I'm waiting for UPS no form letter did u get yours? But yes its desert I live in the middle of it even ran into 2 mojave green on my run lol scary, but I took pictures of it:) I hope we find others on the same ship:) its kinda making me feel like what's going on the ship 11 has a lot of people posting, oh yes I'm debating on PIR I'm for sure going but I have 3 other kids and my husband now wants to drive there so all of us can go but if we are only allowed a brief visit that day then ill fly(for the fist time in my life),so it will be based on that
My name is Faith:) I'm hanging in:) kinda wondering when ill get my letter-form thing? And trying to make sure I join all the groups so I'm totally informed :)
