Like you said, at least he's nearby :-) I'm still waiting for my guy to pass Battle Stations (tonight) so that I will get a phone call and can ask him where he's going after Great Lakes. I don't know if he goes straight to Boston or if he has some sort of school to complete before going there. Congratulations on y'all making it this far though!!

Hey there! Hope PIR was fabulous! Looks like you've got him safely down in Meridian now? Any word on the USS Constitution and if/when he'll be heading to Boston?

Jackie--I don't know what is wrong with my work computer, but it won't let me comment on some of the pages and I can't send a message to you--grrrrr! lol
I will send you the info as soon as I get off work =)
Thank you soooo very much!

Hey there, I was told to ask you about the pins and ribbons for our DIV of sailors...I am very crafty--tell me what I need to do, pretty please ;)

Nope - not making it to PIR unfortunately ;-( Hoping that my sister and her husband can go to represent me though. They would have lots of fun together. I'm just going to have to stop in Boston when I'm back in the states for my daughters college graduation next May. By that time hopefully he'll be fully trained and I can go on one of his tours of the ship.

Are you planning to move to Meridian while your husband is there?

I've been searching Navy4Moms and still can't find anyone else assigned to the Constitution...

My best friend here in Australia is from Meridian Mississippi ;-) That's great for y'all since you're in LA too I expect. Congratulations! I got the impression that my guy is heading straight to Boston, but again, I was only on the phone for about 25 minutes and didn't know what questions to ask - was still too busy being excited about the role. He did go in to boot camp undesignated though - so he had no A school assignment. He's been the dental yeoman for his division at Great Lakes and Yeoman seems like a good assignment. Hopefully your husband will love it! I'll keep an eye open for any groups about sailors on the Constitution and will let you know what I find! There is a group on Facebook too: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=663140890#!/ussconstitutionofficial

Hmmm...my son mentioned having to go to school for 6 months to start with to learn the history of the ship and presumably to learn how to sail it but he indicated it's a full 2 year assignment. He's got a degree in History already though so maybe that means something? Who knows really! So does your guy go from Great Lakes to another school, or to Boston, or do you know yet?

Hi Jackie - my son PIRs on Sept 10, but I wanted to connect with you because he just got assigned to the USS Constitution too! So excited for these guys. What an honor :-) I can't find any other Boston Constitution groups on here but wanted to connect and maybe we can start one since it sounds like they recruited heavily out of these last few groups at Great Lakes. My kid said they interviewed 60 guys and he was the only one who made it. So many odd things can wash them out of consideration...accent, acne scars, fear of heights, being assigned to nuke already. This is so perfect for him it's scary!

well, I think we can just write the Ship / Div on the top of our name tags above our names - and or we could pin a ribbon next to that .... But prob just the name tags will suffice - Ill run it by CKH she is sort of taking the lead - lets see what she suggest! :o) It will be great to get to hang around with each other at the Meet n Greet
