Nancyf. No they are not the same thing. Hell week for our SR will start next week. Should be Wednesday. Your daughter is on Ship 3 Div 228. I think. Her division and my son's Div 230 are brother divisions. They train together. During Hell week from what I understand the RDC's from other Divisions come in and critique each others Divisions. They try to find faults with them in any way they can. The SR's get up at 3:30 am and are put through Hell by the other RDC's. Everytime a flaw or error is found they get a hit on the division. Not physical just points against the division. The veterans can tell you more. If you send me a private message I will let you know when my SR said they would go into Battlestation 21.
Click on OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and the Page will open in a new window. Mikaela and Tatyana have been talking on facebook recently and they will both have A school in Great Lakes after boot camp. Mikaela was so excited about that and is very happy she will have a "friend" there.
So true about the hair. I told my daughter about your daughter leaving the same day and she was interested in connecting with her on Facebook, if your daughter would like that. It may be a source of support for both of them as the big day approaches.
My daughter, Mikaela, will leave from Kansas City, MO. She is 20 and hasn't had much direction in her life until now. So I am happy that she has chosen the navy. I believe she will gain confidence, self discipline and the maturity that she did not get through her (unsuccessful) experiences in college. She IS starting to freak out about the haircut though.

Join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in June. You will meet others with loved ones leaving 06/03/2014 or that week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together.
Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer her to some good links on there.
