Thanks for requesting me as a friend. Can't wait to meet you Aug 5, 2011. My sons names are Alonzo Lee Early Jr. & Jacob Andrew Early.

Jacob is one of Division 249 section leaders and my son Alonzo was rewarded Captain of Hell Week. Because of his Big heart during hell week. I'm so excited how God is watching over my son and allowing them to become successful in the Navy. My Houston # is 832-661-6055

I'm just glad to get an address. I hope it is right. Going to send some letters using it anyway.  It will be one week tomorrow since he left.

Hello Lisa! I am so glad you got to go and it went well.  It is awesome they can have their cell phones until the end so you can talk to them as much as possible.  I broke down and called my sons' recruiter about his address.  He was very nice and gave it to me. He also said if I will call back in a week, he should know his graduation date!

Hey Lisa, just wanted you to know I am thinking of you and hope it goes well. I have been out of pocket so to speak as we had a Relay for Life I was over which has kept me busy. Haven't got his address yet but am anxiously awaiting it so I can start sending the letters we have wrote. Best of luck to you. Lisa

Okay sounds good. Make sure you go early. The recruiter could not tell us when to show up he said around 9:30-10:00 but that would have been too late. We got there at 8:30am and he was sworn in at 9:00.

Lisa, you didn't say whether or not your were going to be able to go to MEPS but if you get to go it is nice. They let me sit with him when he wasn't in a room and I got to make pictures when he was swearing in and signing. Stayed until he got on the bus. He wasn't sure if he wanted me to go or not at first but when we found out I could drive him to Knoxville, he loved that and we kept him out eating and watching a movie until around 9:30pm so that kept his mind off.  He was able to call several times from both airports until they actually left to GL so if he wants that contact with family and friends he will definately want to take his phone.

No I don't do facebook although everyone keeps trying to get me to. :.)  You should have seen me with this site. I really probably wouldn't have done it except I love my son and wanted to find out all that I could. I am on the computer all day at work(which is where I am right now) and hate the thoughts of going home and getting on. Now with the N4M though I have a connection that helps deal with my son leaving.

Everything I have done I stole from someone else on this site so don't think I know what I'm talking about. I just dig around like everyone else. :.)

That is funny. My son's dad lives in Marietta area. My husband has been a rock for both me and my son. As far as what to take, my son carried in his hands the sailor bible I purchased for him from Amazon and a small thin book as a journal. I stuck him 2 notes in his bible to find later. He has on his cross his fiance' gave him and his watch. In his wallet we put his ss card, dl, debit card, $30 cash, book of stamps and small paper my husband laminated with our addresses on one side and phone numbers on the other. Because we went with him to MEPS, he sent his backpack with his other stuff home with us. I have wondered if he kept up with the bible but hopefully he did.

Yes I think I saw where you said Cartersville?  That is very close by. We live in Blue Ridge. My son had a great grandfather that lived in Cartersville that had was very involved. He died when my son was very young though. Because the recruiter he saw was in Dalton, we had to go to the MEPS in Knoxville TN Monday. We hung out with him and got to see him sworn in on Tuesday and stayed till he got on the van. I got his call around 9:45pm which was alot earlier than they told us to expect. Now just waiting on his address so I can start writing to him.
