Checking in . . . were your sailor's injuries from January fully healed? Have you been reslotted for PIR? I've been trying to keep up on so many fronts and wanted to circle back with you.

Joyb - you asked a question in chat before I joined re:900; that's the division that has special drill during PIR. They usually ask for people who have had either band or sports in the past.

Hi there, I just saw on the chat page that you got a call today from your daughter.  I got a call today too, maybe our girls are together.  What division is she in?

I do have the facebook page and I had a typo in my last comment. My son is going as a AECF he won't know if he is ET or FC until sometime during bootcamp. None of us will know the PIR until they class up. It will be an anxious time for us waiting for the mail to come. I will keep in touch I think this will be our safety net. Take care.

We are in WA.  He got Corpsman which is what he really wanted, he loves that medical stuff.  How about your daughter?

This is a hoot.  Mari also went to the recruiter hoping for Mass Comm, but when we found out about the linguistics stuff she went straight for that.

The MEPs station is really close to our house, and so is the hotel where she will stay the night before.  We will be staying at home after we drop her off and then going to see her swear in the next morning.  Her recruiter told me last week that they are done by about 9:30 in the morning and then we have to tell her goodbye.  He was not encouraging about going to the airport to see her off.  I will probably drive over there anyway and try it.  My husband can get us to the gate because of his job, so hopefully we can hang around with her.  We will see- I don't want it to be awkward for her b/c she is the only one with parents around.

It is funny- we have a lot in common. My husband was Air Force too, but we really encouraged her to go Navy b/c they had what she wanted for a job, plus she really just wanted to be able to travel a lot.  I think she will get more of an opportunity to do that with the Navy.

The waiting is hard, but it is coming up pretty quickly.

Joyb- It looks like Mari is right behind your sailor by a week.  She leaves Dec 14th.  We are in Oklahoma.  She is going in as a CTI (interpreter).  She is nervous, excited, etc.  How about your daughter?

Joy- Just found this Dec ship out group.  Reading all the old posts and saw that you had asked if there were other girls leaving in Dec.  My daughter is scheduled to ship out Dec 14th.
