Yeah, I'm sure it was really hard :( Brandon had already joined when we started dating. I've known him for about two years because we worked together, but we didn't start dating until October. I guess I had already prepared myself for what was going to happen. We only had like one little argument, so I'm happy about that :) This site has definitely helped me alot. His family has too. Only 24 more days!

Yeah I feel the same about that. I never wanted to date a Pi Kap, a ginger, or someone who is in the military, and look at me. I wound up with all three!! HA But I would not change it for anything. I love him very much and cannot wait to see him.

Gah everyone keeps telling us get engaged now and we're both like why? We love eachother and are commited why rush things. My take on that is if we get engaged now I won't get a very nice ring. haha jk. I only have 10 more days, but it seems so far away. I just cannot wait till I am on that plane. How long have you guys been together? Barry and I have been together for almost a year...about 8 months now but we've been dating for a year. Yeah it's weird.

That's good that things are getting better. I'm doing good. I'm actually not as good as I was before. I think I'm getting more anxious to see him, so it's getting harder. :( The first few days, I did nothing but cry. Every time I get a letter, I cry while reading it haha. But for the most part I'm good. :) I love Wednesdays! That's when I get my letters :) I'm pretty much always with or talking to his family so that helps a whole lot. I'm so glad to have this site and people who know what I'm going through. Did you know that he was going to the Navy before you started dating?

You should definitly start talking about that soon because everything happens so fast. I am in Delta Zeta. I love it!! Barry is in Pi Kappa Phi, but he's an alumni now. He's getting so old...22. lol I would recommend either staying at the Ramada Inn or the Great Lakes hotel. Those are the best ones I found even though we are not staying at them because his mom did the booking of the rooms...Are you guys already engaged? It's weird, but by the end of basic you almost feel like you have been without talking to him forever and you can handle it pretty well. I'm sure all that will change once he calls soon and once I see him in person.

I know Barry has battle stations this week sometime but I'm not sure when. I love my sisters so much!! Whata sorority were you in? Is he in a frat? I met my boyfriend because he was in the frat that was really close to my sorority. I found some awesome comfy shoes at payless. Don't wear heels I know that. I know that you have to get there to check in your car and stuff at like 6:00am. I am going to die!!!!! I hate getting up early no matter what time it is. Even if he does go to Cali he can help you with money My boyfriend is paying for my gas to come see him because he knows I don't have a job and stuff and I'm still in school. Are you flying to Chicago or driving?

I am so excited and cannot wait to see him. I will tell you all about it. I can already tell you to stay at a motel that has a shuttle :) I'll also let you know how to dress and such. Yeah I know how it feels to want to lay in the bed all day long; luckly I am in a sorority so my sisters never let me do that. Thank goodness too. Wow you are really lucky he's only gone for a year. Barry is in South Carolina for 2 to 2 1/2 years...Yeah...but I'm lucky because that's about 5 hours from me. That's nothing!! Have you been sending pictures to him?

Yes I have PIR in 10 days!!!!!!! I cannot wait. I am so happy that you are doing better. The middle part goes by really fast and then the end starts dragging again...Girl I still have breakdowns. He consumes my thoughts all day long. I hope you did well on your finals. I just started summer classes :/ I'm sure you know how that is. I hope to be getting a phone call soon. Maybe next week or something. Do you know where your boyfriend is going to A school?

He told me once when we first got together what his job was, and I honestly can't remember. I asked him in my last letter. I'm doing okay I suppose. I miss him alot, and it's pretty painful at times. But I'm managing. How are you doing?

Hey! That's awesome :) How long have you and your sailor been together?

Yes my boyfriend is currently in basic. He left April 1st and I am halfway through. His PIR date is 5/27 :) No I promise nothing you write is too much. He always tells me in the letters if he didn't get a letter that day. They think of the mail like candy and they cannot get enough. They really do love that stuff a lot. And when everyone else was getting mail at the beginning and mine hadn't gotten to him yet he said, "I am really disappointed that I didn't get any mail today." That was the saddest line I had ever read and made me cry. Now he gets letters everyday and if not one everyday he gets two another day. Nothing is too much. Write is your letters things that you miss...like how today a song came on the radio and he wasn't there to sing with you, but you still sang his part. I don't know how you and your boyfriend are, but we are very goofy. Please let me know if you have any other questions that maybe I could answer.

Girl I completly understand. I go to a military college in GA and everyone there is in the Army. They are like just be patient. I'm always like this is stupid!! But it has gotten alot better. I have always liked to run, but tend to do it more now. I also have taken up reading. I'm sure you are about to be out for the summer and that does not help at all. I got out last week and now my days are not moving at all. The best advice is to write him and pretend like you are talking to him when you write. Tell him everything. I start a letter and continue it throughout the day like one big gaint text message. Also send him pictures. My boyfriend really likes that. I took a picture of him then took it to things like my sorority's formal and his frat stuff and had people take pictures with it. Then I sent those pictures to him. He loved it and it made everyone else jelous. So make it fun...because I promise he misses you just as much if not more than you miss him. The first letters will confirm that too :)

Hey my name is Ashley and I was looking on the PIR 6/11 site and saw your post and wanted to give you some info. I didn't receieve a letter from my boyfriend till the 3rd week he had been gone. Be checking on Thursday because they can only mail out on Sunday's, but he can receive mail Monday-Friday so try to send one everyday. My boyfriend tells me in his letters when he didn't get one. Also Stay calm and be patient. I didn't get a phone call until week 4. Everything will be ok I promise. Please let me know if you need anything because I know exactly how you feel. :)
