Oh Donna you are so right about the problems. This time in our lives has been so so stressful. I'm so glad you gotta call from Steven, congrats on the E-2,,,way to go! Zach still isn't home, he is due to leave Thurs morning.Thank god! Well you hang in there and please keep me posted on all the progress.I have been thinking of all of you non stop since all of this happened.Take care! -Ruth
Hi Donna, Thanks for your well wishes! They are sending him home...bummer! On one hand I'm so happy to be able to see him but on the other it sucks that he can't stay.I will keep you informed thru this page. How was your letter from Steven? I don't know if your on facebook but if you are send me a friend request...Ruthann Schmidt Evans. It would be great to keep in touch with, I still hope maybe someday we can get together.Good Luck with Steven.I heard from someone on here that their div will be the 1st to do battlestations... Aug 11-12.Please keep in touch. -Ruth
Hi Donna, I guess you didn't get my post about zach having to get a medical seperation...he was sick and having chest pain, they ran all kinds of tests and are calling it a typical chest pain.Once he gets med clearance he will be able to re enlist...but unfortunately no graduation for him.I did get letters today though.GOOD LUCK!!!!!Please keep me posted on Steven. -Ruth
Goodmorning Donna, That sounds like a great plan...Check at the NEX for any tickets you might want to purchase they will probably be cheaper. It's worth a try anyway.I'm really hoping they don't have to leave for A school till Sunday.Do you know where Steven will be going for that and I think it's 4 weeks. Also check with your recruiter, there is something called RAP where they can have 5 free days of leave if they just help out at the recruiting office.Mine told me to call when I knew his A school grad date and assignment and then they could set it up.Also I wasn't even thinking of a beach that sound good too.So much to do so little time! We are gonna leave at like 4:30 thurs am. Have a great day! -Ruth
Hey Donna, one thing that I heard was that we want to make plans to do all kinds of things with our sailors but we need to keep in mind that they really havn't been out in the world for 2 mos and they might get overwhelmed so we might all need to play it by ear.Does your hotel have a pool.We are staying at the hamptom in so if you are interested maybe we could hang out at the pool.Just a thought but we will play it by ear.I hope we might letters tomorrow. All this waiting is for the damn birds! -Ruth
Hey Donna, sorry I assumed your name was hope...LOL no thats not my daughter it's zachs gf she is 16.The other really big hairy kid in the pics is my younger son Jake he is 15 and has since gotten a haircut (thank god).We are driving to GL and I have 5 people total so I'm try ing to get something worked out.If any of your kids are younger, I think under 12 doesn't count towards your # of people so maybe that will help. That stinks that they didn't tell you that you could go to the swearing in,it was nice but nothing really big, just another part of this emotional roller coaster. Are you going to the meet n greet, I'm gonna do my best to be there in time. Where are you staying? Ruth
Great to hear from you Hope.I was at the swearing in and at the airport with my son and 3 other guys.I'm going to try and post a picture on my page of the 4 of them, my son zach has a flyers shirt on..so chech out my page for the pic
Hey Hope my name is Ruth we are from Phila. did your son leave out of fort dix cause if he did I met him.It was my son Zach and 3 other guys at the swearing in and they were all on the same flight.I took a picture of the 4 of them.
