Yeah, I'm glad BC is over too! Lack of sleep and altering ones sleep habits is difficult at first, but you eventually do get use to it...Enjoying my sailor while he's home, because this week will slip away entirely to quickly---before, I know it, he will be off to Washington state...ugh! Too Too far way....well, again goodnight...I'm off to bed this time? : )

Yup. I blubber like a fool (even at comedies).  You won't be alone.

Yeah, you're just south of her.

Can't wait to see the Katie'smom/ConnieC Show (but more importantly - my Sailor!!!)

We're flying into Milwaukee and renting a car.  My sister lives in Hoffman Estates (we grew up in Franklin Park).  I have rooms reserved at the Ramada, but would much rather stay at the Residence Inn and will keep calling them to see if they get any cancellations for a 2 bedroom suite.  Failing that, I might take 2 separate rooms there.  Either that, or we might switch to Springhill Suites.  I picked the Ramada because of the Meet & Greet, but we'll have a car so it doesn't matter.

Oh jeez. Sounds like they're definitely having a hard time.
They all eventually pull together around week 4. After week 4, things seem to go a lot smoother. :)
That's great that he got that position! Aaron's motto was lay low. He didn't do anything to get attention.
And the RDC probably doesn't hate him. Just trying to get him to perform at his very best. :)

Oh I know the feeling!
And I just noticed that he's in a 900 division.

I don't want to burst your bubble or make you sadder, but 900 divisions are held to a higher standard. Therefore, their phone calls are harder to earn. Just hang in there. I learned that if I didn't expect anything, then I didn't have to get my heart broken. :)

Hey! You sound like me!! I took a full college courseload through Dual enrollement and took 2 (out of the whopping three offered at my school) AP classes.

I hope to have Sophomore status, but I'm not 100% sure how things will work out.

My number one piece of advice for surviving this Navy thing is STAY BUSY. Do whatever it takes to keep your mind off of him as much as possible. Because the more time you have to sit and dwell on the fact that he's gone, the more depressed you'll be.
Oh, and my favorite thing I did during bootcamp was start a journal. If I had a super bad day, then I would write in it. So therapeutic, and I let Aaron read it after bootcamp which he appreciated-- he said he really liked knowing what really went through my head and what really went on when he was gone-- not just the happy go lucky stuff.

Just wanted to say hi! :)
Will you be starting your first or second year of college this fall?
I'll be a freshman at Clemson University. I'm so super excited! :)

P.S. You're so so lucky you got to have him at your senior prom! How special! <3

Keep in touch, Jessica. Both of you will be busy, but that's how it goes when you are building a future!!!

Jessica, My son is an EM Nuke and is on the sub USS Pasadena out of Pearl Harbor. He left the middle of Dec. and should be back in about a month. He has been to Japan 3 times and Saipan.

When your sailor is in A-school, they have classes during the day and then mandatory study hours in the evening. Due to the fact that they are learning classified material, ALL studying is done in the classroom building. Mandatory study hours increase or decrease depending on their test scores. IF he is doing well, then he will have weekends off. Phase 1 liberty: First 4 wks. Can leave base on weekends until midnight and uniforms at all times Phase 2: Can leave base on weekends until midnight and can wear civilian clothes on weekends. Phase 3 liberty: Can wear civilian clothes evenings and weekends and can stay off base overnight on weekends! (This is if test scores are good) Honey, you need to be prepared that he is going to be VERY busy! Typical day is: grab some breakfast on the way to class, school all day, grab dinner, mandatory studying, laundry/ironing uniform for the next day and then flop into bed for a few hours. Southwest Airlines just started flying into Charleston, so that may be your best bet to fly to Charleston. Hope this helps and feel free to ask me more questions, I'm happy to help. Pat
