Hi Angela,

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. I posted this on the Leaving in March Group, but in case you didn't see it, here is the group for recruits who are being separated:

Hi Angela, I got "the box" on Friday and cheered because that is one step closer to my SR completing BC. She never called home much when she was in college, so not getting phone calls from her is not unusual. I'm anticipating her next call though. Her PIR date is 5/13/2011. Hope your gets in touch soon!

Hi Angela, I did go to the swearing in and I'm so glad I did.  It gave me a chance to be with her and I was very proud of her.  I started to write a journal and will mail to her on Monday...thanks, Marisa

Hi Angerla, I was very suprised to get the box too. That was fast. I hope you get your daughters address. I had letters written starting the day Austin left.  It was kind of sad getting the box.. I was depressed. But, After I got the box I remembered Austin asked me to pick up some pictures from walmart he had put in 2 days before he left. I figured it would be picutes of his friends and of the going away party. When I went in to get them I asked the guy for the pictures and he handed them to me. I couldn't wait to see who was in them. It was pictures of 3 of his best friends blown up to 8x10..The last pictures was Me kissing him on cheek at the party. He had it blown up to a 8x10 too. I started crying right there in walmart. The guy looked at me and said "is everything ok?"I just smiled and said yes. I know people were looking at me but, what can I say. It got me through a tough day. And I always thought he hated me kissing him. So, I hung the picture in my living room so I can see all the time..

And I would call your recruit again tomorrow or go by there. Surely they know how important the address is to us.

You should be getting your box too.I didn't get a note or anything just papers he already had. I was told the little note will come next week. I cant wait to see what he has to say..

I hope you get your address tomorrow. Let me know...

Have a great day!

Hi Marisa, My son just left Monday and it was very hard to hold the tears back. But, somehow all the excitement kept me thinking of how he was doing.I had a couple but I just wiped them away and hung in there. Now, when I'm alone, thats a different story all together. It is hard , but if your daughter is anything like my son, she is living her dream ..

How many people can say they lived out their dream. If you ever want to talk or anything contact me..Everyone on here is so nice and understanding, it makes it so much better.

Hang in there, you'll be fine.

Have a wonderful day with your daughter...

Hi Angela, Thanks for contacting me. My stomache is constantly in knots and I'm trying very strong for her.  I don't want Monday to come to quickly when she gets picked by the recruiter.

I will not go to the swearing in since I won't be able to deal with it, my husband and sons will go Tuesday am.  She seems prepared and I am happy for her.  Tonight we are having a sending off party with family and friends and hopefully I won't get too emotional.

Let's stay in touch....Marisa

Hey Angela - If your daughters recruitment office has a SEAL liason tell her to go and try to do the work outs with them. Harsh but Def. worth it. My SR is Athletic Petty Officer of his division now which is a pay grade already!

My son is halfway through BC and said tell anyone - get in SHAPE! Run, swim and do more than just PT. Get in better shape than you have ever been and that is one less thing to think about. Best to you your daughter!
