Make at least change 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (clickable link) and change the Privacy Settings for this page from "Anyone" to "Members." There may be other changes you need to make as well, so read and consider each of the changes.

If you do have a second one in the Navy, then you may also want to update your "A little about me:" section.

If you get an error message, then look at the area/s in the error message and unclick all of the choices in the area/s and make choices closer to the question/s. Some choices may have changed since you joined.

Do you have a second one at the RTC or soon to be there?

If so and he has not shipped, then be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC

I also suggest you join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions there

Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what will soon be happening and what to expect.

Be sure to join your PIR group once you get The Form Letter, which now arrives 9 to 14 business days after the recruit's arrival at the RTC in most cases. Let me know what division he is in when you know. I will have more info for you.

Mom from St Pete, Welcome to Molly's Adopt A Sailor! You also have been approved for "MAS We Ship Love" (where we keep the addresses) This provides a little security for our monthly contacts. If you go to "Molly's" home page and click in "View All" in the discussion forum, read "Are you new to Molly's Adopt A Sailor?". Lots of information on how to send things to our beloved troops. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me a message. Again, welcome, and thank you for joining us. Pat

Hi Rita, I am so happy to hear from you. So has your son mentined how BC is going for him? Does he say what the toughest part has been so far? He's probably a typical guy and dances around the question. What is his PIR date? How soon after he left did you receive the information packet (address, PIR date, etc)? Ok sorry for all the questions, I think the unknown is what makes me so anxious...I keep telling myself to breath. I have found a great support group in the Leaving for BC the week of Oct 25, all the mom's are awesome with sharing their feelings and the rollercoaster we are all on right now.

I started more of the planning for my son's party this weekend, it really lifted me up so I'm happy to say we won't be having PB&J sandwiches. Haha...take care, look forward to hearing from you.
Elizabeth

P.S. I found Tampa Bay Mom's past, present and future, I think I will try and become active with them once I feel a little stronger

Hi Rita...I just wanted to check in with you and see how things are going for your son? How are you doing? What week of Bootcamp is your son in? How has he adjusted to everything? We are planning a "shipping out" party for my son 10/16, I have friends and family asking what they can bring I just say oh don't worry I have it covered, honestly, I can't even think about it I know once we have the party he has 11 days until he leaves every time I look at the calendar its not just Oct 6 it's XX amount of days until he leaves....ugh :( Anyway we will probably have PB&J sandwiches at the party...Just kidding I'll get my act together. Hope to hear from you.....Elizabeth

Thank you so much for getting back to me, I always feel kindof "stalkerish" when I reach out to someone in my area, maybe we could start a local group of Navy Mom's, I think that would be great. I do have a great support group between family and friends but sometimes I'm not sure they completely understand the emotions I go through. Like I said I look at some of the local groups but they don't look very active, maybe they are veterans to all of this and life has some what settled down, I feel like I am on a rollercoaster of emotions, both high and low. My son's "rating" (I think that is what it's called is SECF, what is your son's rating? Did you got to MEPS the day your son left? I have been having alot of anxiety about that, I'm afraid I am going to be a mess, but I have made the decision to go. I do have alot of questions for you since your son is ahead of mine, but don't want to overstep boundaries, please let me know if it would be ok for me to keep in touch with you?

Hi Mom from St. Pete.....I am also a mom in St. Pete. I am relatively new to Navy for Moms and I am always in search of other mom's in my area, I had visited the group "Tampa Bay Mom's" but they didn't look very active. I noticed that your son has already left for BC and will be graduating next month, my son is leaving on 10/27 for BC, I have to admit I am so very nervous, worried, excited and proud (all at the same time of course). I hope that you will share some of your journey with me as I am following in your path, I look forward to hearing from you....Elizabeth
