OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

You may want to make changes 3 and 4 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile).

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with the Page, Arrival and What Happens at the RTC, and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

You cannot just bring her boyfriend since only those on the Access List can get in even if someone else is unable to attend. Let her know so he can be listed.

You are very welcome. Your SR will submit the names for the Access List 10 to 14 days before PIR--the names on the form letter are for you and have not been submitted yet. Write to your SR and let her know the names of the people who will be able to attend so that those are the names that she submits when the time comes.  See the info on the main page of  Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) for more on that. Join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) while you are there and check out the info in the Pages (found under the pictres of the members).

Hi, I see you have joined MAA Moms; Master at Arms is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. Join San Antonio MA's; the discussion, Break down week by week, will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active, but is picking up lately) and Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well). The Rating Information Card for MA can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/ma.pdf. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) to help you know how to plan your weekend. I invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) as well. Take care and blessings to you and yours.

Kayla's mom,

I see you recently joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!! Sorry I didn't get to send you this message sooner but I was without internet for the past 5 days!!!  We are a friendly caring group of moms and are always willing to listen, share and help each other whenever or wherever we can. Please feel free to join our chats, we love talking about everything from work, family, weather - whatever. Plus the joyful and anxiety filled journey of being a Navy Mom!!!  Let us support you when you're missing her, lend an ear when you need to vent, and celebrate with you when you want to brag!!  I used to live in San Diego years ago when I was  enlisted.  I was stationed at NAS North Island.  I love CA and miss it a bunch!!!  I look forward to learning about you and your sailor!!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!
