Oh I understand your concerns about driving in snow if you've lived in Florida all your life!!! When you make your car reservation tell them you want an all-wheel drive vehicle. Make sure they provide you a window brush/scraper also. Let them know you don't have experience driving in snow and that you don't want a real small, lightweight car!! They do keep the roads cleared but you could find yourself on the road during a snow storm!!! Make sure they check the windshield wipers for you also. You can always check with me about conditions before you come this way. Let me know when you find out her graduation date.
I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!! We are a close, friendly, supportive group of Moms and look forward to getting to know you and your sailor. I see you are new to N4Ms and your daughter leaves for boot camp next month? Please feel free to jump in and join our chats. You can ask any questions you may have, talk freely about your feelings, fears or concerns, or just chat about life. We are all in different phases of our daughters Naval careers and we are always there for each other!!! Also, I saw your comments about the weather concerns. Are you concerned about your daughter's transportation to bootcamp or your transportation for graduation? I lived in Waukegan for the past year and just recently moved about 45 minutes further north of there. I can keep you posted on weather and road conditions when it comes that time. Last year was a very mild winter. I'm originally from Northern Ohio!! Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!!
