Welcome to NavyforMoms.com. My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012. He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron. He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic. I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp. I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)

Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.

A Seebee how cool!  I know a local young man who is a Seebee (reservist) he really enjoys his Seebee weekends.   I haven't been to Gulfport but hope it's better than Biloxi.  Biloxi only has casinos and the beach is not very pretty.  My son did go down to Gulfport a few times while in C school.  He was on a AFB so he'd go to the Nex at Gulfport.  The drive down thru MS is actually pretty nice.  If she's down there very long will you try to go see her?  Best of luck to her and you too!

Your raised a fine daughter, just know that she is sheltered and safe, fed and is doing what she wants to do. You are going to be fine too. The navy hasnt lost a mom yet. My son went  to BC Dec 13, just before christmas. it was heartwrenching having him gone for the holidays. finding out as much as you can through this website is helpful - knowledge is power -and getting support from other moms as well. My son just PIRd Feb 8th and he is now in A school. I remember how raw i felt. It does ease about halfway through. start counting Fridays and stalk your mail man. the SRs get their mail m-f, but can only read and respond on Sundays. they have a lot to do. She is thinking of you too.  you can start writing her letters and save them until you have received the form letter. Take care,
