OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello!! I forgot to ask what your last name begins with so when I write my boy I can ask if it's him.

Hi Sonia!! I'm glad all is going well with your move! If it's W that just might be my boy, LOL.  How exciting that they are all connecting!!! It's almost here, I can't wait!

No I did not get a call on Sunday, but he said they probably wouldn't be calling for a little while.

I can't send you messages for some reason. I was able to send one yesterday to Chrismom, but not today. Do you have me added as a friend on your end? If we can figure out I can tell you his last name privately then we would know for sure!

I'm hanging in Sonia, how about you?? I seem to slip between "you can do this" and "omg I'm never going to make it" I worry about him, but I know that he wants this so I have faith he'll get thru it. I can't help but wish I was there helping though, you know? Is that crazy?

Since your SR will go to “A” School for Damage Controlman (DC), join Damage Control Mom's, and you may also find others with loved ones with that rating in Engineers, Snipe Moms, and Snipe Moms(enginers). You will also want to join Great Lakes A School Q&A and GL A-school moms. You can also check out the Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes Facebook Page. The Rating Information Card for DC can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/dc.pdf. You will be able to enjoy extra time with your Sailor following PIR. (See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend.)

Welcome to Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) for information on what to expect and to help you prepare for PIR. Start with the OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) and Arrival and What Happens at the RTC, and read 1 or 2 pages a day and then go back to them as you need the info. Take care and blessings to you and yours.
