My daughter has the same PIR date as well. I just got the letter today.

Hi Nicole. My daughter has a PIR of Nov 17 also:) Yes I believe there is a group. My daughter is in Ship 11 Div 10.  I have one hand written letter from my daughter thus far. Hoping to get maybe one more. It's been 3 weeks so I am happy to have gotten a letter:))

I am still holding out for my first letter and my phone call! Glad you heard from your SR!
My son will have PIR on 11/22. He is my first out if the nest and I am a mess. I want to make sure I have everything set up. I got my letter that tells me all about when and were, but i have not received anything else. I am waiting for a call but I am worried about it. I see all of the posts about phone cards. I did not send him with one. Do you know if they call collect? Also does anyone know how much time we get with them after graduation?

Hot mess mom they have a card that they can get at the NEX, your Son will be fine they get a chance to purchase one so they can call, The form letter gives the Graduation date so that is the expectant date for his PIR. If anything is to change he gets to call and inform you of any changes. around the 3rd week you may receive a call to let you know he is ok. Now time spent with your Sailor after PIR depends, Is he staying in Great Lakes for A school? Is he flying out elsewhere to attend A school? No matter what the situation you will be able to spend time with him, He will get briefed after PIR and he will also know more. You keep the Faith and stay strong for your SR. He may or may not have any troubles everyone is different. But continue to speak on determination and to focus. He and everyone of them Miss home as much as we miss them. if you have any questions their are a lot of us that can help. I want you to know everything will fall into place, And no News is Good News, so keep your head up! and just know your Newly SR is fine and in good Hands.
